Overview, The Oligarchy
The warriors of the wood, Ashclan territory sprawls over a forest of ancient oaks and towering pines. Ashclan warriors are typically known to be fierce, passionate, and loyal to their own. These were all traits embodied by their patron deity and the reason some warriors claim descent from the gods. But, despite having possible been founded by Ashpool, Ashclan does not pick a single god to acknowledge. They celebrate each of the three gods and are the only clan to elect three leaders that act as a council, much as the gods did. Each of these three leaders is given three lives instead of the traditional nine and the must work together to oversee the clan. Ashclan lacks a deputy, those duties falling to the council of leaders instead. Once one of these leaders dies or retires, it falls upon the clan as a whole to elect their successor.
Ashpool, Goddess of the Sun
Supposedly the most ancient and most mysterious of the gods, little is known about the goddess of the sun. It is often disputed whether or not she is the original founder of Ashclan, or if she simply guided another to found the clan. She was the goddess of war in addition to primarily representing the sun and the renown of her battle skills stretched far and wide. Traditionally her festival was held in Green-Leaf, the season she has come to represent over the moons, but she is honored year-round by the warriors of Ashclan.
